Ujamaa Cooperative Society Limited
In a co-operative, we are not just consumers or members, we are also owners.

A co-operative is owned by the people who use it and operates for the benefit of its owners and community. Cooperatives are very different from privately owned stores or supermarkets which are owned and governed by investors and the profits of the business go to the investors, not the members.

At our Co-op, members own the business and the profits belong to the community. Because you own the Co-op, you are entitled to share in the profits.

At our Co-op, your membership fee is in the form of shares. You buy a legal equity share and further invest through shopping at the Co-op.

This investment of capital allows our Co-op to set up and operate the retail outlet, buy inventory from producers & have working capital to pay monthly expenses.

It also entitles you to dividends depending on the surplus made. Your investment in purchases entitles you to a patronage rebate depending on the surplus achieved.
