The Ujamaa Co-op is both owned and controlled by its members and therefore exists and operates for the benefit of its members. By using the services and products of the Co-op, we buy from ourselves and participate in the profits that we generate.
The Ujamaa Cooperative Society Ltd. is Barbados' first ever
hybrid co-op (a consumer & producer co-op); we bring producers and consumers together to share in the profits from what we buy every day.
